MGC member makes moves at Strokeplay Champs

The weekend saw Marton Golf Club Junior Ryan Rooney attend the Manawatu / Wanganui Strokeplay Championship held at Belmont Golf Club.

Ryan's Saturday morning round of 1 under par 69 had him sitting on the top side of the leaderboard early on. The afternoon brought more showers and wind gusts to the field, however Ryan managed to produce a stable 4 over par 74 which left him inside the Top 10 going into Sunday's last round.

Ryan put early pressure on the leaders Sunday morning with an impressive 3 under par 67, one of the better rounds in Sunday's field.

A mere 4 shots off the leader, our MGC Junior finished 4th in the Manawatu / Wanganui Strokeplay Championship, and the club is very proud of this achievment. Well done Ryan.

Ryan returns to MGC to continue his defence of his Senior Club Champion Title.
