Pennants Team Perform

Last weekend our Men's B Grade Pennants Team opened their season campaign which came in Round 2 as they had the bye first.

With Captain Shay absent, their was a shuffle and reorder of the team which brought new members to the fold with returning legend Greg McIver and the debut for the youngest of Bremners, Ryan.

The fresh faced team of Darren Oliver, Jayden Hunter, Aron Bremner, Liam Bremner, Greg McIver and Ryan Bremner traveled to Feilding Golf Club, eager to take on the men from the mountain, a very competitive Waimarino side.

The two upfront led an almighty opener with Jayden's tee shot on the second hole of play, the par 3 11th, only briefly touching the green once before nestling in the bottom of the cup for a HOLE-IN-ONE! CONGRATULATIONS

At the lunchtime break the team were up 2 - 1 Heading into the afternoon singles matches with kind words sent in from the absent Captain that the team better come away with an opening win or else....

This spurred the boys back into action with a dominate performance at the helm from Darren and Jayden winning their matches 5&4 and 4&3 respectively.

Cheering on their teammates, Liam fought to the end securing 2 wins on 17 and 18 to come away with a half with his playing partner Greg following suit to win his last 3 to come back from being 1 Down to secure a win 2 Up.

Debutant Ryan held his advantage throughout with the match closing on the 17th with a victory 2&1 whereas AB got pushed all the way to the last putt of the game which unfortunately was not in his favour.

A first outing win of 6.5 - 2.5
Onto the next which is now this weekend at Manawatu, taking on our Friendly Feilding Rivals.
