Presidents Home Advantage Prevails

The 2023 Presidents Team kicked off their season last Sunday with a comfortable home ground opener against the visiting Wanganui Golf Club.

Getting across the line with a 7.5 - 4.5 victory, the game was very much on a knifes edge throughout the round with some of the team proving dominant on local turf with Tony Mischewski, Rodger Yorke and Stu Duncan winning their singles with comfortable margins however the latter proving to be undone by their Wanganui counterparts.

It was an all important half from the man upfront, Troy Calkin, which tipped the scales back in favour of the Marton side in the singles with a 3 - 1 team win in the four ball.

Sitting in the top half of the table after Round 1, the team look forward to yet again hosting with Manawatu coming to play a testing round at MGC in a couple of weeks time.
